I didn't know I wanted that 100 watt sound, til I got that 100 watt sound!! It is just a huge sounding amp. My Traynor MK II is very close, but this is just a tad more open in its roar. Really fun amp and am extremely happy I found it.

When I first plugged it in, I was completely reminded of Ed's 1984 sound. It sits in that place tonally. The only change I have made with this amp is going to a .68 presence cap from the .1. This one is on the official, I won;t get rid of it list!!

Thanks... Hey are you not in the Stramp motherland?? Have you ever seen one?

Re: STRAMP CLIP..... 100 watts of wow......

You have the best collection of nice-sounding-amps-I've-never-heard-of-until-Kevlar-posts-about-them I've ever seen or heard. That thing sounds BAD ASSSSSSS.

Re: STRAMP CLIP..... 100 watts of wow......

How much is the going rate for once of those things, If I see one in the next few years it may be my next amp.
Very awsome

Thanks man!!

I have pretty much learned that if it has tubes and it is from the 60s or 70s it is gonna rock.. Some need more work than others, but this one.... I can see why Leslie West and Rory used them!!

I don;t know if there is reallt a going rate. as there are so few of them in existance. Maybe 600?? I feel lucky to have found this for 500.00 US. If I were to buy a vintage Marshall with the same voice, like run at least 3x or 4x more. With all vintage amps, costs are climbing quickly, so it is best to jump on anything you have interest in... Really fun chasing these amps down. THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET!!!

Thanks man,

I have been listening to a lot of Mountain. ( That riff at the start is a Leslie West phrase) They tracked those amps screamin, with a real non polished, raw sound. I am loving it so I am getting into less refinement as far as getting the 'perfect' sound. I am more into just trying to get the natural energy of the monster.... I just toss a mic a few feet back and let her rip.

No chorus, bit of verb and delay.

I thought I recognized that beginning :D

This is exactly how I prefer my guitar tone. "Live", if you will... vs. "processed/Studio" magic. Raw, sheer power. No fancy gimmicks/EQ, etc etc etc.

Let the amp do it's thing! :bigthumb:
