straps...

Re: straps...

i use a 4" (necessary if you're tring to gig with heavy guitars like B.C. Rich) Slapstrap. Since it's a German product most of you won't have heard of it but i paid 24€ for it an it's definetly worth it.Fine leather no meta scratching the body of the guitar and really comfortable. if you'r interested:

Re: straps...

When it's guitar related, unless it affects tone, I really don't put much thought into it.
Although I can see the appeal of elaborate designs and comfort for certain weight guitars, I mainly use the $6.99 Ernie Ball straps. But I do care enough to buy ones that match the guitar I'm putting them on. The most expense strap I own is an EVH Wolfgang strap that I got free from my Peavey dealer years ago when I bought a good amount of stuff one day. I've used it maybe 10 times. I now seeing people on eBay buying them for $150 and just laugh. You can buy a really cool pedal or something for that amount of money. To me, it's all about function and tone. So put me in the 'I don't really care' catagory.

Re: straps...

i use the fairly inexpensive nylon jobs on 2 of my guitars ... i use a $30 levy leather for my '52 tele clone (black w/ white eighth notes) ... i have a crummy leather strap on my semi-hollow that needs to be upgraded

i think it'd be kinda cool to have a custom leather strap with my name or something tooled into it, but can't justify the $$$

i think santana has the coolest straps on his PRSs ... gotta love puka shells :D

cheers
