Strat Big Apple Clone With Series/Parallel Options Help

Re: Strat Big Apple Clone With Series/Parallel Options Help

I have a version of the Big Apple on my Music Man, with the inside and outside coils being selected via the switch positions 2 & 4. It doesn't sound like a Strat, but it is a cool sound. Kinda quacky, in a different -sized duck way.

It's not very difficult to modify a TS to work on a Strat pickguard. You have to cut off most of the TS ring leaving just the part with the switches and circuit board. Mount that on the guard using screws. You may have to cut out a small part of the guard to fit the ribbon through. Pup mounts normally on the bottom and through the TS on the top.

You can also place the TS ring over the guard and let the humbuckers screws & springs hold them together. That's what I did on my batwing SG and it works great; I'll post some updated pics one of these weeks.

It would be a cool idea to have a pickguard with TS switches already installed, or another elegant way of doing it.
