Got Antiqs in one strat and Fat 50's in another. Strat #3 needs something unique. No HB's allowed. Those tones are covered in spades but everything else is fair game.

Fralin also has Alnico III Strat pickups, but to be honest I know nothing about them...still an idea!

Got an ancient Chinese secret for ya......Chubtone Custom Pickups.
Ask Mike Gray to wind you a 63 strat set with his new El Gordo bridge. The bridge is slightly taller to accomodate 42.5 gauge wire - overwound. The neck and middle is SRV reincarnate. He'll charge you $150 shipped.
For the price of Fat 50's you can have something that you may even like better than Surfers. 7.5-6.3-6.3 They're the quality of Ants or Fralins for $100 less.

I have to admit, I did like those Duncan noiseless pickups better than any other noiseless. The silence is something that could spoil a person, especially when recording.

Rio Grande single coils are hands down the best I've ever heard. Ever. And I mean Ever. They have that $hit nailed better than anyone else. I have yet to try a Duncan single I like. Just an honest observation.
And the reason I don't feel bad about saying that here is because I'm mainly a humbucker guy. And who makes the best humbuckers in the world? Seymour Duncan, Amen.

I've had that in the back of my mind since these are recording tools 99% of the time but they really don't seem to be anywhere on the horizon. I could drop something else in for the short term I guess.
I have a bunch of the lil' buckers. I thought about wiring them up in parallel or something.

I sent my set to Curly, Gearjoneser and Christian to check out and you were on the list too John as you know. (You lefty you! :laugh2: Thanks for not disassembling the set to put them in a lefty pickguard, BTW, but if you'd have liked to give them a try I'd have trusted you put it all back together again.

Since the Kinmans are considered by many players as being the Holy Grail of noiseless Strat pickups I thought that was way cool that he thought more highly of the Duncans than the Kinmans!
That's what I was hoping for: that someone could verify for Evan and Seymour how the Stack Plus set compared to the best noiseless pickups out there, and Christian came through.
I think the only reason he hasn't posted a review here is because none of us are sure if Evan wants us to do that here or not. I'm not sure my set is the final version or just prototypes they plan to further refine.
But, IMO, they are refined enough. The Stack Plus set is the very, very best set of Noiseless Strat pickups I have ever owned or tried. :dance:

Thanks for clueing me in on why I haven't seen more about these pickups...I just didn't have the time nor the ambition to take your guard,pickups,and all electronics off your guard and convert them over to the lefty guard,only to have to remove and reassemble again....Wasn't that important really...I'm pretty happy with the pickups I already have and I'll wait until several more guys buy them before they become any real issue for me..Thanks again buddy..

Something noiseless, definitely. There are a plenty of options you can try out before trying the Duncan vintage noiseless pickups.

I have not posted my review of them yet due to not wanting to step on any toes...I compared the Duncan Noiseless pups to Fender Vintage Noiseless, Fender Hot Noiseless, an EMG set, a Kinman set, and a set of older Fender Lace Sensors...I won't say much but I will say this...the Duncans at least tied with the Kinmans for a killer Strat tone...the Kinmans were the AVn 56 set and while the Duncans were stronger the tone was the real thing, and IMO the Duncans held their own quite well. As soon as I get my paper work to Evan, and get the go ahead I will be posting a review.

Kinmans are nice, but some of his stuff is too bright for my taste. The AVN-62 is my favorite, it has a bit more warmth than his other pickups, and it works really well in the neck spot. I also like the Bill Lawrence 280S, the Lace 6k Hot Gold, and the Lace Holy Grail. Lace does make some really good pickups, but I think most people overlook them due to bad experiences with the original sensor series.
