Strat HB / SC advice ?

slate

hey ya'll ,
ive just brought my first strat in 20 years , and would like to put a single coil sized HB in the bridge , and some higher quality vintage SC's in the middle and neck .
for the bridge i'd like more chunk , smooth highs and an overall flat/transparent response ( no scooped mids or humps , etc ) .

anyone suggest a good starting point ( SD or otherwise...) ?

thanks y'all

Re: Strat HB / SC advice ?

You might consider a QP Strat for the bridge position and then take your pick of some other SD models for the mid and neck positions.

OR.....Fender makes a Tex-Mex combination that really does kick some serious ass.

OR.....Have you considered maybe going to EMGs? The only real problem I've found with EMG pups is that when you put them in a Strat, for me, they kinda take away the breathiness that makes a Strat tone what it is. But they're great pickups.

DiMarzio Fast Track 2 is my favourite SC sized humbucker for the bridge position. Harmonics fly out, it hits tham amp hard and it's incredibly smooth.
