Depends what you're playing. An SG can cover a lot of ground but the Strat will have the edge for jangly clean-tones and a funkier, snarlier sound. The SG to my ears has that darker Gibson sound yet with a bit of top-end bite that a Les Paul or ES-335 doesn't.
Even for me, an avowed lover of things SG, I'm even considering getting an Ibanez RG series Strat-style axe to cover the remaining sonic ground an SG doesn't (plus w/ whammy bar). It's weird, I actually LOVE the Strat sounds, I just HATE they way they feel physically to play (it's like you have to FIGHT them to the death, even the real top-end Strats).
