I just installed a jb humbucker in a strat. I followed the Duncan diagram putting white and red together, black to the 5 way, and green and bare to back of volume pot. Everything works great except 2nd position which sounds out of phase/less output. In 2nd position if you tap the bridge and middle pickups they work. Any ideas? I’m thinking maybe switching black and white wires on the bridge pickup?

Hey man! a bit off topic, but was just wondering how that pick-up sounded. I was thinking of changing my bridge humbucker too. Can you let me know exactly what sort of sounds come out of it? Alos, does it sound good split?(If you split it)

I didn’t split it, he just wanted humbucker tones. It does sound great to me.

So your suggestion worked on that strat. Thanks so much. I have a similar phase issue on my tele I wired, but reversing black and green only partially solves the issue. It’s a 3 pickup nashville tele with a 5 way. I wired the little 59 tele to an on/on/on 3 way mini toggle to get me full humbucker, split, and parallel. I used the 3 way mini diagram from Duncan and everything works except 2nd position sounds strange. When I swapped green and black it sounds normal in second position, but then I lose one of the minitoggle positions.
