Strat pickup suggestion

Hey there, I'm new here and I have a Fender American Standard Strat 2012 that has a maple fretboard. I replaced the bridge pickup with SD Hotrails. It sounds great when distorted or overdriven and really gives me that fat and bassy tone, but the problem is, the clean tone is not that acceptable to me.. It's too dark for my taste and the notch position sounds very thin and piercing, so I was thinking of changing the bridge pickup again with Dominion. I have heard that Dimarzio Dominion has a great split-coil sound and has that thick middy tone, but will it work well with my strat? I want a humbucker that has that strat quack when in notch position and at the same time, has that fat tone and mid punch. Any suggestions anyone?

Re: Strat pickup suggestion

welcome to the forum!

my suggestion would be to split the coils on the hot rail in the notch position or to use a switch to allow both series and parallel wiring. do you want to use the hot rail by itself for clean tones? if so, i would look at the series/parallel switch
