Strat pickup wiring options?

Hi all,
Lost in a sea of options. I've got a SSS strat that I'm about to rewire.

Currently I'm looking at 2 push pulls. One would insert the bridge in Parallel and the other puts the bridge out of phase. Seems like a usable mod that would enable me to put in a few extra sounds while playing live. The other kicker is the wiring I'm using has one tone for Series and one for Parallel. Cool if you ask me. If you're interested, go look at the guitarnutz2 forum and check out the strat lovers mod.

However I"m wondering if there's more. Guitarnutz seems to be a bit more stagnant that this place. Can ya'll suggest some other mods that are usable, stealth and free (I can get push pulls, no problem there....

Any advice and options would be most helpful!

I'd forget about push pull pots and all that rubbish and do this:

Re: Strat pickup wiring options?

That's basically the wiring I use in my Strats. However, I don't use the "Volume Kit" mod...I leave that out and instead I connect the tone control directly to the output jack by soldering the wire leading to the Tone Control to the middle lug of the volume control.

Either method helps to retain highs when I lower the volume with the volume control of the guitar.

Try it both ways.

With this wiring you'll be able to get:

neck pickup
neck pickup & middle pickup
neck pickup & bridge pickup
middle pickup
middle pickup & bridge pickup
bridge pickup
all three pickups

With the blender pot you can add/blend the neck pickup into the bridge pickup when the 5 way selector switch is set to bridge or bridge/middle, or add/blend the bridge pickup into the neck pickup when the 5 way selector is set to neck or neck/middle.

It gives you about as versatile set-up as possible and looks stock.

I don't find putting Strat pickups out of phase to be a pleasing or useful tone - I wouldn't bother with it.
