STRAT® WITH 720 MOD
What do you all think of this Warmoth option to lower the neck on a custom made guitar kit?
Ordering a Strat replacement through them and they offered this option. Thank you for sharing!

Our "720 Mod" lowers the floor of a standard neck pocket from .625" to .720". This effectively reduces the height of the gap between the body top and the bottom of the fretboard at the 22nd fret. We also incorporate a very slight neck pocket floor angle into this mod for best set up results.

Doing this mod on a body that requires use of a pickguard that normally occupies that gap would be disastrous to the neck's fingerboard. So for that reason,we ONLY offer the 720 Mod on REAR ROUTED bodies.

Bodies that already require an angled neck pocket because of being a carved top or because of a particular bridge choice are NOT eligible for a 720 Mod.
If you are using a neck that has binding on it, you may damaged your low hanging binding by installing it on a body with a 720 Mod.
Available on "to build" bodies only; not available on Showcase bodies.

It means the neck sits lower, and the bridge saddles sit lower. If you have 21 fret necks its no problem even on a stock style strat.

I know Warmoth gets a lot guff from some people, but I've ordered a lot of their parts and they've always been solid. I really like the idea of this 720 mod. I can see a functional purpose for it. You should be able to get lower action from say the 12th fret down. I'm kind of cooking up a build and I'm probably going to use this mod.

Thank you! Met a guitar tech today talking about this very feature and his response was "yes please!"

The deeper neck pocket and pitch angle are mainly to accommodate certain types of two-point floating vibrato bridge whilst maintaining proper neck to body contact.
