i dont know why......


i have a les paul style guitar and my strat (see sig...). i ove em both, and they both sounds amazing and feel amazing. however, i dont know why, but it just seems like i need a drop more work to play non strat guitars. like, its just not perfect. strats seem to be. can move with em, and the necks are perfect in my hands.

now, i have played many strats, many les pauls and sg's, and ive just found that the strats are perfect for me.

sound wise, i still like my ec-1000 and it does still play amazing, just not as amazing as the strats....


anyone else feel this way?

I agree , I love Les Pauls and think they have the coolest look to them but I have a hard time playing one . The Strat with it`s contours is just the most comfortable guitar to play when I`m sitting down , bad back will do that to ya!

I play a strat with a 24 3/4 scale & 2 hums. kinda best of both worlds., or at least for me.

And thank's to the routing and swappable pickguard, you can get nearly any sound you want out of them.

the jag seems to be the most ergonomic design to me. strats are comfortable, but I've never really gotten into the feel. prefer the strat feel to most LPs though.

im a bit different i only own a strat but i prefer any les paul ive played over strats. But i do love strats all the same.

For awhile, I swore myself to strats only, mostly because they fit the sound of my band. Only used them with 6L6 amps, too. Then, like everything else, I got tired of limiting myself to that sound, and got back into EL-34 amps......with those, humbucking guitars became the natural progression. Now, I just flipflop, and would be happy using only LP's and strats, but......... He He.

I tried many different lps, but the strat appeals to me a lot more. I love that ringy, sparkling sound from the strat. Although it's easier to shred on a lp than a strat.

I prefer a strat style guitar also. However my preference is for the G&L, S-500. I have three S-500's, and I'm currently working on acquiring a fourth one!

No, way, Pual's are the guitar for me. For the longest time I thought strats were, but, I think my future buyings will be greatly paul's. I picked up an Epi Paul Standard and it's faithful like a dog and plays so awsomeley. It just needs a set of duncans.

I owned a Les Paul many years ago, and the ergonomics were aweful. Poorly balanced sitting down, and the edges dug into my ribcage. So, when I decided to build a Les Paul style guitar, I went with a Warmoth VIP body. Assymetrical cutouts for good balance + a tummy cut:

i have my strat guitars and i have my les paul.

the LP was my first real guitar, so everytime i play it, it feels like an old friend. then the charvel just feels amazing!!!

i love both, but i will never sell the les paul.

I'll always be into strats.

That's what I used as a kid, and that's what I use now. Now, I REALLY like teles and my PRS is a superb instrument, but I always find myself coming back to strats. They are just so comfortable, they take a beating, and a good one sounds fantastic. They are eminently moddable, too.

GJ's tele/strat hybrid avatar from a while back has me thinking something similar would be the ideal instrument for me.

Im a strat man myself. I dont have much experience with alot of guitars but i do know that im not a fan of the way les pauls feel in my hands just aint my thing and no strat ive played has ever rubbed against my grain if you understand wat i mean by that. The fact that there so moddable is a bonus is aswell i only the other day put a Dimarzio Breed in the bridge of my strat and its sounding beautiful so far .
