Someone please click on the ZZ Sounds link above and check the photo of the back of the headstock. Not that it would surprise me if the are, but are the machines way off level or is it just me?
Guess it's me then. Looking at the photo of the back of the headstock ... to me, it looks like the bottom two machines on the left (e and b strings) are angling down while the bottom two on the right (a and E) are angling up. The two up top look level. Optical illusion maybe.
These are part of the new 2017 Custom Special line. I've only seen the LP in black and wine red so far. The tuner spacing looks off because the headstock isn't as wide as the standard Gibson headstock, it's almost like a cross between the old Melody Maker and a standard width
Follow that ZZound link. Use the magnify function to look at the string alignment where the necks meets the body. If that is the one they are using for their ad..... holy crap! The neck is completely out of alignment.

Ouch. Neck pickup ring is missing the bottom left screw as well. I heard they have 1 hour, start to finish on these models. That doesn't include the finish. They get an extra 30 minutes for that.
Honestly, some of the Tributes are very respectable guitars. I have one of the 2013 Tribute LP's that is a really nice guitar. They cut enough corners with the finish with that line and they don't stand without their share of other complaints. "Attention to detail" probably best sums it up. I'm thinking maybe they should have stopped there. They can only go so far before it's simply overpriced crap.
