Stress crack in Fender neck joint

I inspected the damaged on my malmsteen strat (some of you know that a drunk decided to do a Pete Townsend on a few of my guitars). The neck was shifting, and upon inspection, I found it was due to a stress crack near the upper right neck bolt.

To fix it, should I pull the neck till the piece of the neck heel cracks off, then re-glue it? It's not big enough right now to inject some glue in. The other alternative is to add another screw under the neck plate- like EVH was known to do on his Frankenstrat.

Ady advice would be appreciated

Yeah I'd have someone who knows their stuff look at it. Then destroy the guy that did it.

+1 on both counts

Seriously, I know the temptation would be there to further separate the fracture, but you could end up pulling out more wood. Give it to a reputable luthier for inspection. He'll know what to do.

Luthier job, involving disassembly, use of correct glue and clamping prior to reassembly. Also, it is possible that there is (as yet, unseen) damage to the screw holes in the heel of the neck.

Then destroy the guy that did it.

I had a crack in the neck like that on the Strat I used to have...a good luthier in the area said "Don't take it off again, and don't worry about it." It never got bigger.

Can you post couple close up photos of this crack so we all can see it better

Well the multiple impact points cause the finish to chip. Fender used a clear primer basecoat that didn't appear sanded well for adhesion- then they layered on the thick color coat that I presume they sanded and buffed out. The result is a finish that is tough, but should you get an impact that's heavy enough to break through the finish, the rest of the finish begins chipping away. In other words it's turned into a relic.

The crack isn't too visible on the bare wood- but if you mount the neck and pull the neck to one side, it becomes visible.

Where do I get this low viscocity super glue others speak of?

Long story, but I forced him to pay for all the damage so I wouldn't have to file an insurance claim, which would've resulted in me filing a police report, him getting arrested and charged with multiple misdemeanors and a felony, and he'd never be able to work again.

So far it's resulted in me getting a 53" flat screen, onkyo surround sound, and a new San Dimas Charvel Tele.

Trust this. ^^^

But please do get a reputable luthier to check it out first. That will probably be the most effective solution but I'd hate anything to go t!ts up because you only listened to me...

Also, you need the right kind of superglue and it needs to be applied carefully and in the right way.
