String Problem

So i keep breaking my A string (actually it is my Gb string...all of my strings are a step and a half down)...do you guys think it is the bridge (that is where it breaks).

It is a string through guitar with a tuneomatic bridge...Jackson DKMGT.

How might i remedy this problem?

could be your saddle slots..

Same thing happened to me a while ago. Check the Saddles first, if they're ok id switch to a new brand o' strings.

What guage & brand of strings do you use?

Sounds like a saddle spur that needs filing.

dan e's book recommends 2000 grit sandpaper around a nut file smaller than the slot your cleaning the spur out of....
