When do you start getting overdrive on that Tone Master Deluxe Reverb?
Well, you survived the disappearance of Chorus pretty easily. Let's give you a hard one this time. You wake one morning to find the Overdrives are all gone. Not gonna be so easy this time. TS9's, 808's, SD-1, Blues Drivers, and every other non "Distortion" box just doesn't exist and all the knowledge of humanity can't bring them back.
* Natural amp OD is fine. If your amp does that....well enough. For you.
** Straight up booster like MXR Micro Amp, Keeley Katana, etc is OK. Klon, RC Boosts, anything that adds grit itself is not.
How does this effect you?
Can you survive?
How do you get by?
Will you quit playing?
Can you go on?
What about that Fender amp???
Go!
Turn that frown upside down. This will prolly do

With a good tube amp, drive or distortion pedals are unnecessary.
I was just thinking about putting together an FX-only pedalboard to use with my Friedman.
About that Fender amp - they break up nicely too, it just takes turning 'em up.
So, high stage volumes, or a good attenuator, or maybe a Rangemaster... Or just a small amp.
There's a reason why blackface Deluxes that could be had for $200 in the 90s now sell for upwards of $3K.
I just realized that I could do a gig with a dead clean sound.
