Suddenly this pedal exists: Line6 DLA4 Mk II

I am a huge fan of the DL4, and from what I can tell they have included all of the DL4 into the new model. Plus twice the delay models, twice the presets, reverbs, XLR input, SD card and lots more looping time. I will get it.

Nice pedal for what it is but if you have the other Line 6 offerings, you basically have this. Still, it warms my heart to see an old legend brought back to life and given a fresh tune up.

Now that is a delay unit. Shimmer is not a requirement for worship music. This will end up on a lot of boards. I'd snag one myself if I was looking for a delay but I'm good with what I have.

Is it too early to deduct style points?

lol . . . I was kinda thinking that. It looks pretty usable and capable . . . but not sure I would have tried to recreate the styling and colour choice of the original if I was in the Line 6 corporate boardroom where they were deciding things.

My old DL4 is so beat up, and I've replaced the switches so many times. I also own an M9 and HX Effects, but those aren't quite the same ergonomics-wise as the DL4. It really is like a little instrument you can 'play'.

Hard pass, already have a DL4 -oh wait 4 minutes of looper record time? damn, thats super interesting -you can jam out a whole song in the loop.

They need to make this in a smaller form -killing the wide switch layout -for those who want the dials to make a preset and MIDI control only.

I think the ergonomics of the original pedal is what made it special. They were far enough apart that you don't have to look, and you can't really hit 2 pedals at once. I think they did a good job keeping the old stuff but making it better.

Dammit! Now the question is this, as I have passed on a couple of vintage ones and have twinges of regret, or the TC Chorus Flanger????

Vintage ones will need their switches replaced. I think I am on my 3rd or 4th set. They've redesigned them on the new one.
