Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

I want to replace the nylon mesh strap I've been using for years with my LP. I hate the current strap, because it's uncomfortable, and want to find a good soft leather one. Any suggestions regarding manufacturers will be greatly appreciated, ladies and gentlemen:beerchug:

Thanks in advance

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

Is leather a must? Couch guitar straps are amazing, well made (hand-made in the US), durable and look darn nice too! I'm sure you'd find one that you like.

I have 4, including 3 that are vinyl and I prefer them to the leather ones I used to have... just sayin'... ;)

Action Straps.
I've been using them for years.
Quality is unbeatable and they're fantastic people to deal with.
Not cheap but you'll never replace it.

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

I use Souldier straps on my teles, and just ordered my first Couch for the new strat.

Thanks, I'll definitely look into them

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

I have a couple each Couch and Souldier straps. Both companies make comfortable, good looking straps, and I can't decide which I like better. For a leather-like strap I'd go with a Couch vinyl one.

I love these straps. But I keep a strap on each guitar so I have a lot of different styles but this one is cool

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

As soon as I get enough takers I'll probably make a few wide straps from some 6oz leather splits that Tandy puts on sale. Not spending over 80 bucks on a hide for myself until I've got some other plans.

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

I have a few Franklins as well but with a Les Paul you have to check the button holes and make sure they are reenforced or they can fatigue on you and we don't want your Les Paul bouncing off the floor. I also use strap locks on some guitars( I like Shallers) and I Aldo use a rubber washer on some. The rubber washer trick works real well it's just a thick rubber washer that you slip over the post after you have the strap on once the washer is on it can't come off unless the strap breaks

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

I typically use the woven nylon straps but I have a padded leather Levy's that is very comfortable.

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

Levi makes some really nice cotton straps that are wide and sturdy but very comfortable...

Re: Suggestions for a new guitar strap.

I use 3" suede Franklin straps. I've only used them with straplocks so I don't know how they fit on regular buttons but I had to work them onto the straplock system, so the holes may be on the smallish side. However, they are extremely comfortable, and when I'm playing my bass, I don't even notice that I have 10+ pounds on my shoulders.

Yeah, I use Straploks on all my guitars.
