Suggestions for pickups in my homemade guitar

Im currently considering tossing in a set of EMG's, as i already have 2 guitars with duncans in them. What would you guys reccomend for a nice thick sound. I primarily play metal, although I have started up a solo side project playing some middle eastern ambient/folk music in which i would like to have some great clean tones from the neck. The reason I'm considering the EMG's is because I've heard that they accel in super clean, and when under high gain conditions. the link to the guitar is in my sig.

thanks.

What kind of guitar is it? Wood types?

EDIT: Sorry. I forgot about your thread. :smack: I personally think it's screaming for a passive set, but I may be wrong.

I'm using EMG's on my Charvel 375 (81 bridge, SA middle and 85 neck) and the tone is awesome. I play under low/middle gain, and I can get some nice heavy blues/rock or hard rock. I don't play metal anymore, but I want to keep the EMG's on this guitar.
If you use less gain, it don't sound like an metal pick up..depends on your style of playing and gain. But if you like high gain, EMG's sound clean even on full distortion.
I just expected a more "Strat" sound of the SA.. but maybe it's just me.
Maybe the mustaine set should sound awesome, I would love to play it.
