Suhr Aldrich or Rio BBQ in V?

Not 100% fulfilled with the Dirty Fingers in my V. No money to buy anything new, so was digging thru surplus to see what I have.. Found a Suhr Aldrich, Rio BBQ, Tone zone, and Genesis Sounds Mr Browney. Was trying to think which would prolly be best in the V. Thoughts? Im thinking the Aldrich..

Have a Dimarzio Evo neck too.. How do you think that would sound in the neck? Would it blend with the aldrich??

Only ever tried the Evo when it came in my Charvel... and didnt have it in too long...

Thanks!

PS, also have a Duncan Distortion, but its red..

Re: Suhr Aldrich or Rio BBQ in V?

Generally speaking, I find the Aldrich works really well in a "V" type guitar, but it depends on what you want...Bite vs Juice?

The Aldrich has a little more compression and top-end cut than the BBQ, but the BBQ is fuller and warmer sounding throughout, which can help a lot if the guitar is naturally "thin" sounding.

As for the Evo neck, it could work with the Aldrich. Charvel pairs it with the Tone Zone most often, which is in Aldrich-esque territory as far as tone and output. Who knows? Might work out really well, actually!

Masta'c, thanks for the input! Hamerfan, thinking bout the distortion (white v, distortion-vintage Hetfield!!) but just curious how much diff it would be from the dirty fingers..??

i never played a Dirty Finger, but the Distortion is clearer and fuller than a 500T. Its more like a JB with more low mids (no wonder since its a JB with a double size ceramic mag).
