Hi Guys,
For a while there I was thinking of selling my Jackson DK2 because it was an older model that came with Duncan Design pickups. From what I've read (and eventually saw) they are low quality and low output (not totally sure about that).
Then after a couple of years it occurred to me that I can just avoid selling it and put new proper pickups in it. I then followed to order SH4/JB for bridge and after some research Hot Rails for neck.
After placing the order and reading a bit here, I found that many people loved the Suhr DA pickup, so since I already have a different guitar with a JB on it, I figured I'd try - I cancelled the JB and ordered the DA instead.
Both pickups are now on the guitar, the Hot Rails sounds heavenly! (even though I ordered the Bridge one by mistake, I lowered it to get less output).
However I'm worried that I'm not hearing what others have heard with the DA. It might as well have similar sound to the Duncan Design I had in there. I tried to carefully adjust height, but I think it just sounds 'regular'.
Is there any amp/effect/supplement I can buy to be able to enhance its strong points / bring it more forward?
For the entirety of the period I'm playing, I've used the medium level digital effects and only now starting to buy the hardware metal ones - so I'd appreciate also what you would think are the must-have effect to use with that pickup to get the Aldrich-whitesnaky sound.
Thanks guys
