Suhr Rasmus or Warmoth ?

Re: Suhr Rasmus or Warmoth ?

I'd choose a parts superstrat over an American Suhr...

:outahere:

I've finished and assembled 6 (7 ???... :banghead: ) partscasters, mainly superstrats and a couple of teles. Majority of them were from Warmoth. Yet, the last two were from USA Custom Guitars, and I would have to say that I am much more satisfied with those guys. You can ask them to select the "good wood" both the body and the neck. They don't carry the funky good of Warmoth (I meansapele or some other exotic wood), but specialize in the common ones. Maple, alder, ash... Their mahogany used to be excellent, Honduran... yet since the last year, they don't offer it as standard. And you could get yourself a Brazilian rosewood fretboard as well, not expensive at all. There may be an additional charge (for the selection of wood and all), yet the thinline p90 thing that I have done rivals my R8. It is insanely good!

So if you know what you want, and you can do some work (of course gotta learn it, and internet is a great source, and I assume there would be some Home Depot / Bauhaus somewhere closeby) ... It'd be great fun. Yet, it you are like WTF is he talking about... Go with the Suhr. Remember, the most expensive/valuable ingredient is knowledge. So don't think that USA CG would be necessarily a "cheap" guitar. It depends on the quality of knowledge you put into. There are 2000 dollar guitars made of parts from USA CG (with excellent aged finishes and all...).
