Sunn Model T reissue, tube options

I've got a Sunn Model T reissues on the way and I'm wondering what options I have to switch around tube types. Power tube wise it's designed for 6l6s and has jjs in it right now, but I was wondering what other kinds of powertubes I can put in it. Is it possible to put 6550s in it or kt-88s.

Additionally what experience do you all have with preamp tubes in these things. Does anyone have recommendations

I wouldn't change out the JJs - great stuff. Looking at the manual, it looks like they only want you to use 6l6GCs. you'll have to find someone more knowledgable on hte other types of tubes.

Why would you buy an amp and instantly want to swap tube types?

Output tubes can't just be exchanged even if they fit in the socket.

Preamp tubes - swap away.

because I like to play around.

I'm actually not going to do it right away, I'll write a song or two with it before I decide. I just like to keep my options open.

as you probably know, the "reissue" is a completely different amp than the original model t. I recommend doing a search on this site: http://sunn.ampage.org/sdp/index.php/board,1.0.html

yeah yeah, sunn snobs will jump all over you for saying re-issue. It's generally referred to by that title despite the obvious differences.

If I wanted options I would have found a more flexible amp. It is a good amp, just not very flexible. You will either like it or hate it.

So... anyone that tries to help you by letting you know the real facts instead of believing a wrong although majority opinion - is a snob?

Cool. Then I vote that you stick in a set of 6550s or KT-88s.
