Superstrat Build

Re: Superstrat Build

I don't, to be honest. That'd be a bit like covering the sushipuke with a napkin. Nothing against strat style pickguards when they serve a purpose. But this one's rear routed, so it doesn't need a pickguard. By the way, is that a KNE body by any chance?

Count me in. HS with a Paf Pro in bridge position is awesome squared.

Hey kramersteen, I think that neck might come from a HSS model with a maple veneer. Can't remember whether it was called a San Dimas or a Wildcard, but in the current state it hardly matters what name it used to have. There weren't many more with rosewood fretboards. Love the grain on that one.

I dont know what the body is to be honest but i think the control cavity shape looks a bit diff to the kne range,. Thanks for the info on the neck.....The neck was a score because the dumb ass listed it in a 3 day action as a Chavel so i was the only one who found it hahahahaha

This pickguard style i was thinking

In that case I probably made a mistake. But somehow that control cavity cover gives me a deja vu.

If you recall what it is can you let me know?
And yeah i think it is a pro mod neck thanks for clearing that up....It looks really well made and finished.

This is how the body looked before i spewed on it. You can see it was HSS at some point before someone tried to convert it to HSH and now its HS haha

Really? I always thought you saw so many because of excess factory stock? There was a time when there was a plentiful amount of charvel necks like this on ebay. I think stratosphere use to have a heap for sale. But now you mostly just see the bodies.

I am just guessing you would be more on the know because you own a few...

Re: Superstrat Build

Still no clue. The one I remember had some kind of a rib on the longest cavity walls and 5 or 6 screws. So it probably wasn't of the same origin. What I can tell you though, is that it does not look like alder to me.

What do you think she is then?

On another note I got this hunk of alder cheap the other day from this rare timber specialist. He told me it was rose alder. The wood is very red...But i cant seem to find any info on that species? have you heard of it per chance?

On the back side the dark open grain looks more like some kind of "fake mahogany".

Re: Superstrat Build

Hahaha, no, sir. I said fake mahogany because those trees are sometimes being called "mahogany" for their visual similarity. Same goes for Nato. These are not related to swietenia or khaya, as I've been told.
