sorry. I can't offer any yet, but who CAN do it?
I've heard Gary Hoey described as such, but I just tried listening to some of him and it really didn't sound particularly surfy or shreddy, unless I just caught the wrong clips...
Anyway, yeah... kind of embarassing, but I'm attempting to learn shredding... :laugh2: It's going ok, except that my only reference is the John Petrucci DVD, which is full of a lot of exercises, but nothing musical (or nothing I percieve as musical :laugh2
I'm not a big DT fan... at all. As you probably know.
...is it weird to want to be able to shred despite having no desire to listen to shred itself? I think I could do cool things with it if I got my technique up... I can still hear a metronome clicking in my head for some reason.
So Surf Shred. Who professes anyone who fits that style? I need some actual songs to attempt to learn to get myself on par before I venture out and do something else.
My problem with most shred is that the actual song behind it is typically given either too much or too little attention... try me. Any suggestions? I just need something I find listenable to practice with. Also, how about any shredding without distortion... cause that's the way I like it.
(shredding does sound better on a Mustang, BTW
