Still undecided on pickups for my 70s strat,(rosewood neck/ash body)did try the surfers on a different strat before but didnt care for the bridge pickup much,to thin/trebly sounding.
Was gonna go with the Quarter Pounders but might want to try the Surfers again but with stronger Bridge PUP,any suggestions?
Also, whats the best way to wire these up for best performance? What caps, tones pots,etc,etc.....
Maybe I didnt have the last set wired up right.
I know Im probably driving everyone nuts(including my wife) but I want this to be the last set I get, something that can cover almost all styles of music(except metal/thrash,etc)which I dont really play anymore.Nice full,chunky,chimey,etc...
I know most of your tone comes form your amp, playing style, pedals, etc,I found that out after I bought my Mesa Boogie amp.
I've been reading alot of good reviews on the board here but the more I read the more indecisive I become!!!!!
Sound wise whats the biggest difference in tone/sound between the SURFERS/QPers?
Thanx everyone for the help.
