Surprise. Surprise. Thumbs up for an Epiphone SG.

Re: Surprise. Surprise. Thumbs up for an Epiphone SG.

Some Epi's can be very nice, but that's not USA.....that's Korea or China depending on the year. I had a G400 that was great with new pickups and a new 3 way switch (they used to use junk, I think they've been upgraded). And of course the Epi Elites or Elitists are fantastic guitars.

This one is for sale locally. Seriously thinking about it. Custom shop, supposedly. $250, thinking of offering $200.

Anyone know about these "Limited edition Custom Shop's"?

I just received one of these, I'm pretty sure. No neck binding and a simple SG on the truss rod cover?
I don't like my pickups, but the guitar feels good. Light and very resonant. A little head heavy, but not horrible. The pots on mine are solid and tighter than I was expecting.

I can't check it out until tomorrow.

I'm not super crazy about the color, but like most things, it could grow on me. I've been wanting an SG for a while, actually would like to build one. But this could hold me over until that happens.

That's Pelham Blue. That's the reason it's a limited edition model. It's also why I got mine; I love that color.
