Sustainiac and Blackout Living in Harmony?

I recently purchased a Seymour Duncan blackout pickup. I took my Jackson DKS-2 to the local guitar shop and they said the wouldn't put in the pickup because of the sustainiac pickup that's in the neck position, so I decided to try to do it myself. This is my first attempt of doing a pickup change and I'm a bit lost. I have a few wires that I'm not sure what to do with and I cant find a wiring schematic. The wires from the sustainer are untouched and they go to the circuit board, but I need advice with the single (middle) coil which has a red, white, green, bare and black wire and the blackout which has the red, white and black wires. it also has a 5 way (8 pin) selector switch. can anyone tell me where the wires go?

This is from sustainiac, I think. Itsays to space at the very mild nimum an inch away when setting up circuitry. That the sustainiac wire shouldn't be too close to the Blackouts bridge. They'll said it works okay, so they might not have found a good fix yet. I don't know. Apparently if they're close than an inch the magnetic field(s) is(are) affected.

thanks for the reply. I did this, the blackout is working great but the sustainiac doesn't work. I got a response to my email to the techs at sustainiac and he says that I need a 9 pin output jack so the batteries (1 for the sustainer and 1 for the blackout) don't interfere with each other.

Sorry, I wish I had known that. I was kind of already looking it up and came across it so I thought I would share it. I'll check out the 9 pin out put Jacks.

It seems StewMac caries them. I'll see if I can get a hold one eventually. Sorry you nw have to order one and recover on my advice though. I messed up, but now I know to to post the 9 pin/lug stereo Jack if anyone else ask. It seems like it could have possible unseen benefits though.

Thank you and no problem. I took it personally only to express my regret, but since we've both learned from this maybe I can expirement with using the 9 lug stereo Jack to connect both passives and actives. I'm thinking of splitting the signal of passive pickups with a Blackouts Preamp and normal wiring, but the sodering would be complicated. And maybe I'll put in a sustainiac as well. It may have to be single coil.
