Swapping my JB for something else

Yeah, it's big, but relatively tight.
It's easy to cut the lowend before going into the amp, but i prefer leaner PUs in general since quite some time. But that's just me. But a recto also doesn't need it.

Actually i prefer you JB clip. It really pronounces the recto woof i am kinda missing myself.

My strings are really dead with the JB as well. I’ll see if I can’t change those soon and redo a clip. At the moment, though I think I’m really digging the distortion I have. I think at the moment I’m still really torn and leaning toward the distortion more so than anything.

I got around to changing my strings and did a back to back with the Distortion and JB. I still feel like I am liking the Distortion more. Something about it. Also Idk how much difference it will make, but the guitar that has the Distortion has 250k pots. Where as the JB has 500k.

Nice brutal and massive sound!
Yeah the SH-6 sounds a tad better, but I guess in the room the differences are bigger.

No, the Pegasus is not dark. It has more true highs and not so many (aggressive) upper mids like the PUs you own.
I find the Nazgul is closer to the SH-4 and SH-6 than the Pegasus is to any of them, but without their drawbacks for heavy stuff. But it sucks for clean and crunch.

I only have brief experience with the Custom/59 Hybrid, but it has a huge low end, which I wouldn't choose for dropped B, but since you have it already, try it. lowering has dramatic impact on the amount of bass

Huge bottom end has not been my experience with the Hybrid at all. I have found the Hybrid to be very harmonically rich and balanced but leaning to the bright side. Very clear and articulate under high gain and in many ways will cut in a mix better than a JB plus will be much tighter, IMO the Hybrid would work very well with drop tunings. Have used them with Drop D on occasion and think they work very well.
I'm also a big fan of the Alt 8 in the right guitar. Keep it lower than you normally would because of the pull of the A 8. If you find the sweet spot with an Alt 8, in the right guitar and amp combo, they are absolutely explosive. Super articulate at high gain and very tight. Really like both the Alt 8 and the Hybrid paired with a Sentient neck in particular.
This may help.
