Sweet Child O'Mine cover with the Epiphone and a Line6 POD XT Live I just bought.

I screwed up the last solo a bit but never mind that, I'm not perfect.

Epiphone and Line6? What happened to the Gibson on layaway?

From a technical standpoint, I am not hearing any of the digital audio nasties that blighted your previous SoundCloud upload. https://forum.seymourduncan.com/sho...t-me-use-his-RP250-from-Digitech-to-record-it

Unfortunately, I still hear human timing inaccuracies. Clearly, you have studied the guitar part fingerings in detail but not the way that Slash phrases across the rest of the band. In short, "the feel".

What kind of feedback are you looking for?

I would hazard the guess that young master Fanatic will prefer gushing praise and as many forum Likes as possible.

I could barely get the first 10 seconds. The opening guitar is too loud and it sounds like there's no speaker compensation on it and has this digital, keyboard sounding distortion. Keep in mind, I am sick at the moment so unpleasant sounds drill through my skull like a f*cking jackhammer at the moment.

I honestly don't know what you're expecting us to respond with, but I'll say this:

Practice before uploading. A few mistakes is acceptable if they don't seriously detract from the performance all that much. Completely sloppy/way off timing isn't something to showcase. And the "I screwed up but whatever" attitude isn't a real good mindset if you actually want to get somewhere with your playing. As punk rock as the '**** it deal with it' attitude may be, it shows a glaring lack of professionalism and self-accountability, which is why it is hard to take any musicians with that attitude seriously. If you know the performance is less than stellar, then show the diligence and actual motivation to improve and refine your own skills. I guarantee you, the feeling of improving yourself solely based upon your own intrinsic drive is going to be far more rewarding than any praise from other people ever will be.

Very well said. Not everyone is expected to be at 100% top tier professionalism but that was literally uncomfortable to listen to.

Re: Sweet Child O'Mine cover with the Epiphone and a Line6 POD XT Live I just bought.

I agree. While not everyone is giving 100%, that's okay if they are at least putting forth enough effort to get by, and they aren't trying to get anywhere serious with their music. If you are trying to get anywhere, you need to give your 100%. Nothing less is good enough. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

And I actually listened to the whole 6 minutes.

Re: Sweet Child O'Mine cover with the Epiphone and a Line6 POD XT Live I just bought.

I am not here to criticize the player, but to propose a reflection. Have you ever wondered that a lot of guys asking for pickup suggestions here are actually getting tones like this at home? And we spend hours proposing different ideas and mag swaps to make the guitar sound better, when the pickup may not be really the issue.

Anyway, just a thought...
