Sweet NGD,,,

Like so...

^^^ Not to mention the depth of heroism and EPIC-ness it conveyed...

In contrast you have a bunch of dweebs in a library (to show how intellectual they all are no doubt..lol, talk about insecurity) looking bored out of their minds as they plonk along repetitively. Only the upright bass player looked like he was overcome w/ emotion (in fact he looked like he jizzed his pants) who knows why? I guess he found things exciting for some reason...or his mind had drifted and he was thinking dirty thoughts....

Well, It's a struggle I always win.

BAM ...right note..at the right time...every time :lmao:

Feels wonderful :bigthumb:

And going from an intertwining EPIC sounding twin solo to an interweaving one (in a horror/goregrind context) :bigthumb:

What theory dorks don't get is that it's important to play to the song ..convey some feeling & emotion, Whether it''s epic-ness, horror, touchy-feeliness or w/e else...have some context for what you're doing not just cram in everything you just learnt like a mindless robot in your class/basement...

If I throw in random notes..they're randon notes that follow the melody of the song/create atmosphere/sound fucking cool & if that sounds different to what 99% of other guitar players are doing...it's a bonus.

Now I could say Buckethead does 'random notes' too...so did Zappa & Vai ..to which the standard dweeby reply will be. 'But they know theory / oh you need to know the rules to break them' (why?) and other cliched rubbish like that (I'm living proof that you don't need to know shit ...you can break anything you want all the same & do your own thing..and despite all your disparaging BS it sounds just fine....wrong/random notes/single scales and all :lmao:). Creating &/or following a melody/song is all that counts...how you do is up to you imo...

Anyways..back OT...

Something quick w/ the bridge pup.. Laney IRT Studio/ 1x12 cab + SM57 (no reverb or efffects)

It's nice and beefy sounding/kinda hairy/raunchy..but still really clear & articulate, definitely more suited to hard rock/metal (and shred..)

You just don't get it. It's useless to even try to clue you in.

Then don't. Just get back on topic & talk about the guitar. Came w/ a pretty decent Sire gigbag btw...they'e always useful though I pretty much use them as dustcovers :bigthumb:

Just another online pissing contest. This thread should be shut down.

Or maybe it could just be about the guitar.. :lmao:

...ie how it looks, plays, sounds, compares to a bunch of other guitars, sounds through different amps. pedals etc. You know ON TOPIC kinda stuff like that :bigtumb:

I'd even welcome Clint and GuitarDoc posting their own exquisitely profficient video's of the two maestro's playing/shredding w/ their own guitars up for comparison...cuz why not? The more the merrier..

But sadly everyone knows that won't be happening anytime soon (as the saying goes "Empty vessels make the most noise" ...so true :laugh2:

So as always with me ..another strictly OT/educational post....Here's how it compares w/ the ibanez S520 Black cherry I just bought. (neoclassically)..though this tune is slower and more emotionally moving..

And here w/ the Cort I bought for $150 used (as sweet an axe as any I own ..especially after an equally cheap but awesome p'up change)

Speaking of cheap guitars...I do have another on the way. H-S-S like the Sire but for less than half the price new ... it's pretty too. Should be fun :bigthumb:

But I digress..back to the OT/educational stuff :bigthumb:

And now back to the Sire axe. Same as the last Sire vid, but with the bridge humbucker split which is probably the most authentic single-coil like tone I've ever got from splitting any humbucker, bridge or neck...and it's stll nice and beefy sounding

It's also got a push-push tone pot for splitting instead of the usual push-pull, which is easier to use on the fly & rather cool. :bigthumb:

...and now on to Sweet NGD #2.

What can I say I've always hear good things about Pacifica's and since I'm gassing for HSS atm..this was a no brainer. A whole lot of guitar for the (very reasonable) price.

Very cool guitar ...plays and sounds amazing (and very different from the Sire which has more of a classic vibe..this one sounds more modern). The singles are great..clear and articulate but still fat and meaty and the humbucker sounds awesome too. Not overly distinctive like the Sire's pup's are...but they do sound sweet all the same. I think they're all A5's

Humbucker split sounds like most other humbucker's split...ie a slightly thinner version of the full humbucker...so decent/usable.)

Neck feels and plays great. Excellent fit & finish, stays in tune, decent hardware. I have still to adjust pickup height since I brought down the action quite a bit (sky high out of the box).I bought this one from the company's online store (Yamaha, India). Came in 3 days.. looks pretty nice too :bigthumb:

Here it is in full shred mode :bigthumb:

Waiting for GuitarDoc/Clint to chip in here about how it's a lovely guitar, but I don't know what I'm doing w/ the clips and how there's no point explaining w/ their valuable virtuosoistic insights/input cuz of all the random & wrong notes. :dunno::poed::oops::dance::smash::drive::17::eyecrazy::wall: :chairshot:foot::saeek: OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway more with just the major scale as Clint would undoubtedly gripe & moan about (who cares about melody & the fact that it's pop-rock as long some sweet Mongolian scale/circle of fifths/box1 & 2 gets squashed in there somehow :lmao:).Well, too bad, into each life some rain must fall ....sorry :laugh2:

Neck single....lovin the tone here. If I'd spent double and got the next model up it came with HSS Duncan's but honestly....I'm not missing them. These more than get the job done :bigthumb:
