Switch Swap, 5 way to 3 way M.P. Fender Marauder?????

Hi guys, I'm hoping maybe someone could help me find a wiring diagram that will help me with my Modern Player Fender Marauder? First off, I love this guitar, or I will soon hopefully? Call it a fake Fender, or a Squire with a fender sticker on the headstock, but this guitar plays better than all but one of my U.S.A. Fenders & def. beats out my Music Man & G&L's!!! I love all things Leo!!! Anyway, considering this was a $300 guitar new the playability is amazing!!! Perhaps I just got lucky & got a really good one? My only complaint is the STUPID Triplebucker they put in the bridge! Maybe it was a good idea on paper but it's a gimmicky, shrill, awful pickup & there's no two ways about it!!! So what I'd like to do is keep the stock P-90 as it sounds great & replace the Triplebucker with a Zebra TB-11. This will not only make the guitar sound much better & add a bit of bass but it should look pretty darn good too!!! I'm not looking to tap the TB-11 & I want to keep things as simple as possible. Although the guitar only has two pickups it has a 5 way blade switch to accommodate the third blade on the bridge pup, I think this pickup has like 8 wires coming out of it or something??? Anyhow, I need to change it to a 3 way switch so I can tie off the red & white tap wires then solder it up like a old 2 wire P.A.F. basically giving me a H/S pickup configuration & 3 way switch? I'm having a very hard time finding a diagram to assist me in doing this. I thought maybe some kind of Tele diagram would work but still no real luck. I've wired up lots of guitars & replaced switches before but always had something to work off of. I have what I need to do the job I'm just not sure about bridging the switch? Would a Tele switch bridge work? Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Re: Switch Swap, 5 way to 3 way M.P. Fender Marauder?????

Thanks for that Doc! I thought that would be the correct way to go about doing things but I had five different people telling me to do it ten different ways! I don't know how Fender could let such a great playing & sounding, as far as the neck pup goes, guitar hit the shelves with that in it? The M.P. series blows the MIM guitars out of the water & @ a fraction of the price! With a good Trembucker in the bridge this will undoubtedly be one of my top 3 guitars & I got a lot of very nice guitars, most of them are worth more than 10X what I paid for this! If anyone has a chance to try one out I'd recommend it. Just while you are using the bridge "Triplebucker" think of what it could be if you are willing to drop a few bucks into it, even a MIM Fender Trembucker would be a huge improvement over that P.O.S. so you don't necessarily have to replace it with a $100 pickup to have an awesome guitar! There's literally thousands of used MIM Fender humbuckers on eBay for $10-$30? I'm going to get this wired up & see what happens, I will update later incase anyone else here is interested in the M.P. Marauder & wants to know what happens if you lose the gimmicks & put a little bit of time into it.

Thanks again for the help!!!!
Rob...
