Switching from active pickups to passive and need some guidance.

The pickups I want to use are the Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded Humbuckers. I know I have to get 250-500k pots and a mono jack, but I'm not sure which specific ones to get and from which reputable stores other than Guitar Center. Also any wiring diagram or wiring guidance would be greatly appreciated. The guitar I have is an Ibanez Iron Label RG6. http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/RGIX20FEQM

I'd recommend the 59 to go with the JB. It's still articulate like the jazz, but it goes better with the JB. You could also get 500k push/pull pots to split or parallel the humbuckers.

I once did the same to my RGA32, converting from active to passive. What was done was installing new pots (500K), ripping out the old wires and installing new one and a capacitor. The barrel jack and the 3-way switch survived. The battery compartment now stays idle.

I think your's is 3-way selector right? The wiring should be strightforward and downloadable from SD/ Dimarzio wiring digaram section.

Hey sorry for the late response. lol Does it matter which 500k pots I use? Do I need to get split shaft pots?

Yes you need 500k pots and get a nice one like CTS or Bourns. Bad pots have bad tolerance so that supposedly 500k might end up being like 400 or 600. Good pots also feel a lot sturdier and nicer to turn, and for such an integral part of the guitar that you use daily, it's worth the investment. Not to mention the price difference is like freakin $5 between good and ****, lol

Definitely get split shaft pots! Ibanez knobs will NOT fit smooth shaft pots
