Switching out pickups for something new, JEM 7VWH

Was going to do this a year ago, never got around to it.

Guitar: 2002 Ibanez JEM 7VWH ( Ebony board, Alder body ) Currently has DiMarzio EVO IIs. I think they are muddy.

Amp: ADA MP-1 with Mesa 20/20 into 2x12 Recto cab

Pickups I am looking at - Jazz neck, PB bridge, YJM neck in the middle:

I like 80s and 2000s metal, never liked 90s "Nu" metal

LOVE 80s shred from Shrapnel records

Think this combo will work and "match" somewhat well?

This is a great combo! These should brighten up your muddy sounding guitar. You picked a hell of a set there.

I will never for the life of me figure out how Steve Vai is so in love with DiMarzio.

I have 3 high end Ibanez's...two of which are early edition Jems and they ALLLLLLLLL sound way better with Duncans in them.

I have personally used a Distorion Bridge, SSL-1 Rw/Rp Middle and a Pearly Gates Neck in both my jems for the past 15 years and they love them.

Good luck with your search.

It looks like you are on the right track. I just wonder how the YJM will balance in the middle.

See you,
