Re: Take 2
NO. Ya mean same exact guitar right? pointless. Unless you are collecting them for profit, whats the point? Its stupid as hell, there is no point.
I have 4 Strats, point being they all have difefrences, either pickups, necks, body wood..something.
Some guys here buy same guitar different colors. I think thats dumb.
You have a point, there, but man, you're starting to sound like my wife!
My reason for getting multiple copies of the same guitar is that I can be rough on my gear. I once had a really nice electric that brought my playing to a whole new level. It became integral to my playing style. Then I knocked it off the stand and broke the headstock. I felt as if I had just broken my own arm. I have not been able to replace it because it's been out of production for 20 years and was not a common model, so they just don't come up for sale very often.
So when I find a guitar I
really like, I get a backup while they are still around. I'm not talking about expensive guitars here, so it's no major investment. But as long as I don't knock them off their stands, my great-great grandkids will still be able to sell them for at least what I paid for them. And I do realize that ART100s are about as common now as Honda Civics, but some of my other favorite models have gone out of production after just a few short years.
Getting different colors/finishes gives each one a bit of its own personality, and makes it easier to keep track of which is which for maintenance purposes and such.
Roadstars ftw! Those single pu ones can fetch a pretty penny sometimes. There was a magenta burst one on eBay this year, which looked hot.
I'm telling you, these are amazing. This is another guitar that enables me to play stuff I never could before, and it has an incredible rock tone too. When I let friends play it, they just won't put it down. It is a real go-to guitar. I was the only bidder on that orange burst, if you can believe that.
