Tapping a Pearly Gates?

I was thinking to tap the pearly gates pickup i have in a lp copy (neck position). Anyone have any experience with this (not how to do it, I mean the tone, usability)? Does it sound like crap or great?

Any advice is appreciated.

The PGn is one of the pickups that most guys here seem to really like split...I don't split buckers but give it a minute...somebody will chime in!

I will say this...the PG set of my favorite NON Custom Shop Duncan set of buckers!

I've tapped the bridge PG. It sounds almost Tele-like. No idea about the neck, sorry.

thanks for all the input, I suppose ill try it, if the sound doesnt suit my style, then ill just put 'em back.

It sounds great split. Very clean and chimey. Through the right amp settings, it's almost acoustic in the neck slot of my LP.
