TB-4 (B) and Hot Rails (N) w/push-pull pot wiring help

Hey everyone!

I've searched for my specific situation and haven't found anything... well, anything that I think helps me (I'm still learning what series/parellel means when it comes to pups). I'm going to be using a push-pull pot to switch b/t the pups, and I don't want to coil split/tap or anything. To my knowledge, all I think I need to do is hook up the hot wire to 2 lugs on the push-pull pot (upper/lower lugs), white/red together and green/bare to ground. Does that sound legit? The instructions for the pups have a push-pull diagram, but, it is for series/parellel and coil tapping/splitting, in which I want to do neither! If there is a thread that I overlooked, don't slap me, and just point me to it. I already figured out how to do just one pup, but, that was on a normal pot; I just assume it's the same, minus putting the black wire on two different lugs of the pot, but, I just want to verify. THANKS!

I think this would be close, but, with a push-pull pot, I'd have a bunch more lugs to put the hot wire on; I just think I need to put a hot on a top lug, and the other hot on a bottom lug (assuming that the top/bottom are separated/changed when pushed/pulled).

HAHA, so, I just realized that, I got a dimarzio push-pull pot, and they had a diagram on their site: http://www.dimarzio.com/sites/default/files/diagrams/2h1ppv.pdf

So, I think the only difference is that, for SD pups, the red/white go together, and the black wires would go where the 'red' wires would go on the diagram?

if you're looking to use a push-pull pot to swtich between the 2, I'd start with this:

just transpose the Hot Rail wiring as needed (black to the lug, green & bare to ground, red & white joined and taped off).


but what you got from DMZ is pretty much the same thing.

One more question though... that extra black wire going from the middle lug to the volume pot; do I have to add that, or, is it needed?
