TC Electronic Home Run

Re: TC Electronic Home Run

If I recall correctly, the main feature of the EHX unit was the fact that it had two channels so that you could record a loop for the verse and a separate loop for a chorus and easiliy toggle between the two. That's all I remember, except I'm relatively sure it didn't feature the additional functions you've mentioned.

Another interesting feature (that made it difficult to locate) is that it isn't an EHX unit .... close, due to input by Howard Davis ...

Oh yeah, I talked to Pigtronix about their looper, going back and forth suggesting some things (which they seemed receptive to). It apparently can be updated, so the featured I might need may make it into a revision later. I never do the verse/chorus/etc method of looping, so as it stands, it isn't terribly exciting to me. If I was going to spend that kind of money, I'd get a Boomerang, which does have all the features I need.

Yeah, I think the Pigtronix unit actually led me to the Ditto. Or vice versa. But I think the Ditto would just be perfect for a practice tool. I don't understand the hatred in this thread for such a unit.

Re: TC Electronic Home Run

This looks cool, but... what happened to jamming out parts with your band, grooving and letting things develop organically??? Maybe a step forward for technology, but not a step forward in musicianship, imo.

+1

I have seen the emo kids use these loopers over the years live. I dont listen to any music that uses loopers or extensive delays and have no need for one except maybe to vamp and jam with a drummer when no other musicians are around... I am always interested in a new fangled gadget from TC :)

good thing technology is propelling us forward :)

Re: TC Electronic Home Run

It won't actually be for sale until the end of March. Again, this will be a great practice tool... And if it does well maybe we will see a more full featured looper from TC.

Re: TC Electronic Home Run

Just pre-ordered ditto looper from musiciansfriend. Used 10% discount good through tomorrow and total was $116.99 with free shipping. Per their site not shipping until April 12th. Last few items I bought from them were shipped earlier than the date they estimated so hopefully that will be the case with this.
