Has anyone looked at, used or got the TC Electronics Board with effects loops and power for the pedals?

I talked about it in the GT-8 thread.. yea I bought that thing and used the pre-amp loop of it (along with the loop specially buffered for pre-amps it has I think 4 other loops for your fav. pedals) to insert my mesa roadster pre.. it's really set up for the fabled "4 cable method" donned by GT-8 users.. I couldn't really test it out too well because it worked at the store and as soon as I plugged it in at home (with the power supply) it didn't even turn on.. it's also kind of weird that it doesn't have an on/off switch.. well I'm not going to say that it's overpriced because a rig that has the same capability would require an Axess CFX4 (for the 4 relays), an Axess GRX4 (for the 4 loops), a Midi floorboard, and a G-Force for similar quality effects.. that's at least 2 grand.. but the shiny piece of metal I got was worthless because they just don't work.. I'm not the only one who had dependibility issues (read the reviews).. I think they just released this thing before it was ready

Interesting! Also I'm going to pick up on your observation of the reliability. I've noticed this comment on the Rocktron board aswell. It seems maybe the boards are just too complex, though that's an issue I've not had with my GT-6. Not that I wouldn't ditch it for the right rig!

It's a great unit ,and i think TC works hard on patches to make it more stable and dependable.But it's still not %100 road ready.Steve vai uses one ,and has allways 1 or 2 back-ups!

I gigged with a band a few weeks ago that had 1 of these systems into a 3 channel Hughes and Ketner 1/2 stack (a new 1 with Lights on the inside of the head, I forget the name) and the rig sounded DREADFUL.
That's the only time i've seen/heard 1 in person before, but it didn't leave me with a great 1st impression.
