Tech screws up nut Pt.2

Totally right?

If you're asking if they owe you ALL of your money back, I'd say they do but it depends. They can probably offer the opportunity to start over. You would have every right to refuse based on that "work". It's a guarantee that the owner/manager would not want that "tech" working on his guitar. If you go in with a reasoned approach rather than flying off the handle right from the start, you can probably end up with a full refund assuming the manager/owner isn't an ass hat. But definitely speak directly to the owner or manager. They are not going to want it to get out that this is the type of work their shop turns out as acceptable. That's your leverage if push comes to shove. You definitely need to come out with something back in your pocket. Don't let it stand, it's totally unacceptable.

How much did it cost? Might not be worth the fight.

With a TUSQ as your starting point this is definitely something you could have some fun with yourself and perhaps even learn a little. They can always be replaced!

It's worth holding them accountable despite the hassle and even if the refund amount is negligible. If they aren't challenged, they will never try and correct their mistakes.

I wouldn't return it to that "tech".

He's probably not capable of doing the job right. Otherwise, he would have done it right to begin with.

Good luck getting your money back. Probably ain't gonna happen.

If you paid with a credit card...maybe.

Yeah, that is appalling. And no telling how many guitars left that shop with work that badly done. I would send the pics to Graph Tech and let them know that one of their dealers is letting work that looks like that leave their shop. I would also talk to the manager of the shop. The TUSQ nuts are not cheap, and no way you should have to pay for a new one.

I'd definitely knock someone's nuts if they did that to my pride and joy. I'd offer them the chance to refund before kicking off though.
