Teese RMC-1 Wah Demo

Re: Teese RMC-1 Wah Demo

That sucks... It sounds so cold and absolutely NO tone what so EVER!!!!! I bet it was recorded using that old knackered POS Strat that no one would give you £10 for?? Lol... only joking.... man, that's a superb sound! Was it THE strat Mr. WahWah? What amp etc were you using. Very cool sounding demo whatever you were using anyway.

Re: Teese RMC-1 Wah Demo

Sorry to hijack, but I just listened to "The Death of Octavius", and have just one question for you: WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT??? That's the only octave/fuzz I've heard that makes me desperately covet one.

That's the FoxRox Octron 2. One octave above and one below at the same time, all on independent footswitches with a master bypass switch and its own loop. That's straight into the lead channel of my Super Champ. The Octron 2 tracks like nothing else I've heard. It's a beast. Remember, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's octaver."

Yeah, that's the old Strat. I have to keep playing it until I can afford a nice new shiny one. The amp is my beloved Rock Bender, which is a custom made 100w 2x12 combo. Even the speakers are Australian. It's like a Bassman on steroids.

Yeah, the Teese wahs are definitely good for porno wah, a very different beast to a Morley.

Re: Teese RMC-1 Wah Demo

Wow, that sounds fantastic!

The Teese website suggests that the RMC-1 is voiced exclusively for single coils--by this does he mean strat and tele-style single coils? I ask because half of my guitars have p90-derivative pickups, which are of course single coil but very different from strat/tele single coils...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Teese RMC-1 Wah Demo

Cool playing and wah tone. It's really got that Hendrixy vowel thing down pat.

What pickups are in your strat? Stock?

Re: Teese RMC-1 Wah Demo

Sounds pretty darn good to me, very funky the clear but still nice and thick with no thin or icepick tones

Definatly will be putting this one at or near the top of my list for a new wah.

The pickups are SSL-1 neck, SSL-1 RW/RP middle and SSL-5 bridge. They've been in there since 1985. Seymour kindly sent me a set of pickups for helping out on the Melbourne SDUGD, which were Antiquity Surfers for neck and middle and a custom shop Al II for the bridge, but unfortunately they sounded too bright and hyped for this guitar, so the old set went back in. This clip is all neck P/U, so it's a standard SSL-1, my favorite Strat pickup.
