Tele Bridge Pickup - need help I'dng...

New to the forum, but have used SD pickups for years. So it's cool to be posting.

Here's what I've got - bought a Peavey Reactor (tele-style guitar) several years ago. I've always played it as it was, thinking the p'up's were stock "Peavey" units. Decided to do a refinish on the guitar so I'm pulling the hardware and the mystery happens. The bridge pickup is marked "Seymour Duncan Made in USA", I go way cool! Here's the low down - all pole pieces are flat, level with the top of the bobbin; the leads are wax coated yellow and black cloth covered; bottom plate is brass and a quick resistance check puts around 8.3k. I come to the website and cannot find a direct match, though the five-two is close. I've asked on several other forums including Peavey's and have not gotten a clear answer. Does anyone over here have an insight into what this model Duncan this is?

Thanks,

Update - Talked with Scott here at Seymour Duncan. He seems to think it may be a Broadcaster that's wound a little on the hot side (8.3k) or it may be a Five-Two as there is no stagger on the pole pieces. He said to look at the magnets and see if there is a difference as the Alnico 2 magnets are different than the Alnico 5's. Does anyone have additional input into how I can check to see which p'up I have?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum...

The only thing I can think of is what Scott said... Check if the three magnets on the lower strings are a bit darker than the three on the top strings. If so, it's probably a five-two. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Checked the pole pieces - they all look the same. Guessing its a slightly overwound SD Broadcaster.
