My current tele build project is incredibly similar, seeing this cheap listing really ruined my day! Sounds like an amazing deal. SX alder body is probably nothing to write home about, but this thing is probably much better put together and set up than my warmoth body/mighty mite neck every will be.

The main reason I'm posting this is so that everyone can tell me why this guitar is not a great deal and make me feel better

The main thing is that the headstock is butt ugly. Maybe even worse.

I'd go with a Warmoth /Mighty Mite over that one on C-List anyday.
If your worried about the set up, just get a good tech to set it up.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I would take the Warmoth body over the SX body any day. And GuitarDoc is right, that headstock looks terrible.

Doesn't seem like any great deal to me. If you consider the time spent, the guy certainly isn't making a profit on it.
