Tele Make Over is Complete!

I took the tele plunge a few months ago and bought a 2008 Fender J5 tele and when I got it, it looked like this

I loved the tones I got out of it but decided I wanted to change its looks so phase 1 was change the bridge, control plate and neck pick up cover and I also snagged a flamed maple & ebonyWarmoth neck for super cheap! It wound up looking like this



That was close to what I wanted but the mirrored pickgaurd and gold knobs bugged me. So after a few weeks of waiting for a new pickgaurd and knobs my tele is finally looking how I want it to look.

All three versions look great, but the gold on black definitely takes the cake. Super classy. You should call it Bond. Guitar Bond.

Very nice indeed. Do you like the Tele neck pickup? If you're not solid with it, and are willing to go further, there are a lot of really cool options for the neck position. It could turn your J5 into a real banshee; even more than it already is.

I love the neck pup, the bridge is the one that might get replaced... Kinda wanting a more vintage-y PAF tone. So far this guitar is exactly what I wanted... A guitar to mod the hell out of!

One of those open-style humbucker covers would look pretty neat on the bridge pup, if the bridge plate got room for it!
