Tele, perfect modern/emo guitar?

Lots of highs, snarly and whiny with a bit of distortion, but with just enough of that "classic edge" to get playtime on the college station. Then you roll the gain off, and damp the tone a bit, and you have mellow cleans that are great for the verse about your ex girlfriend. Plus, they look really classy with an untucked shirt, straight hair in front of the bangs, and a sexy pair of shoes.

I would think a Les Paul junior w/ the one P-90 bridge could do that, plus get a lot thicker fro when every last ounce of your soul is being drenched out onstage.

Oh, yes that is emo. But for the really biting nasty tones, you cant beat a tele.

yes, I was in a couple really emo bands. I will say yes tele's are emo(and I own one) but I also think LP's are emo. I had this one made for me, which the star inlays are emo too me. I use to be ubsessed w/ stars.

Now it's kinda the only thing I don't like about my singlecut. But then again I kinda like it just because it was a period of my life.

More scene music, and indie, seems to be tele type stuff. I don't think a strat has the EQ curve to even try to play stuff like that. A Les is great, but your almost getting to soft metal then.

Sorry, Emo's just use a tele because they want to be cool. But it just makes them look lame because they arent worth the instrument they are playing

SGs are the emoest guitars out there. You ain't emo if you don't use an SG.

Never knew Emo had a signature tone...

I thought that we with Emo guys being sensitive and emotional they might want to connect to their feminine side and play Daisy Rock guitars... you know, the Girl Guitar Company... :D

I think some of those Daisy Rock guitars are too good for emos. They can have the flower, heart and butterfly models, but not the rest.

it's the SG for me.. shame a lot of the guys i've seen playing emo reckon sounding like a sharp, solid-state, tinny mess is 'part of their art'...
