Telecaster Tribute

Re: Telecaster Tribute

o ya, my thoughts on teles :smack: I love a good telecaster! Thats what I'm lookin at getting next, a transparent honey blonde, maple fret board, black pickguard and a 54 broadcaster bridge and a routed strat neck PU :newangel: One of my favorite tele players is Rich Robinson from the Black Crowes, mainly because everytime I listen to him I want to go steal a tele! Most all of his stuff is a tele, save for Hard to Handle, I think that was a les paul but I'm not sure. Listen to songs like Jealous Again, Remedy, Sting Me, Blackberry, Wiser Time and a bunch others.

Well JP used the tele on all of the first one and as far as I'm concerned NONE of the second album, possibly a tune or two though. When he got his les paul it was new beginnings for him.

Close guess on George Harrison but Jimmy got the guitar from Jeff Beck and it had a really cool dragon painting on it that got worn off. George did however give Eric Clapton his SG that he painted, "the fool", thats probably what mixed you up

Beck you say? hmm interesting. I knew about the Harrison Fool guitar, but I'd swear I'd read somewhere that it was em, oh well.

As far as Zep II goes I wasn't there, all I can do is regurgitate what I've read, or heard. But the out of phase sound emulates the bucker, which is why his could sound so fat.

You know, my tele just seems like the picture of solidness. I always feel like I could use it like a wrecking ball if I wanted. It's got mean evil tone too.

are these Tele tunes?
Rebel Rebel? Bowie
now that I think about it rebel rebel, does sound very tele-like...whether or not it is one...who cares, a tele could get that sound.

I think you mean NOFX? Bad Religion pretty much just uses LPs and SGs.

Re: Telecaster Tribute

Little known tele factoid: many of the guitar parts on the last two soundgarden records were recorded on a tele.
