****ing nice!

Interesting that you put the steel saddle under the high strings. I've only ever really seen that under the low strings to squeeze out a bit more twang.

I threw them on there to get it together, and I realized my goof too late to bother with it. I will be installing the Glendale twang set once they arrive.

I love the concept of the SD zebra hum tele, and love yours.

I've been thinking of doing it to one of my teles, and this thread ain't helpin.

Mine could look similar to the 35th Ann. tele, but I'm probably going to do something different, like a nickel C5 and ring, with a SD Mini hum neck.

Nice job! I've been playing a couple of Tele-Gib style guitars lately and I like them a lot.

Re: Telegib like thing

Awesome! I built something similar over the summer, a relic MJT Tele with a mini-humbucker in the neck and Hotrails bridge. I want to, but have not yet, cut the bridge down and added a full sized bucker @ the bridge.......

Re: Telegib like thing

I noticed a certain "snappiness" to them when I first tried them, but now they just feel normal.

I just refretted a buddies GMP that has seen hundreds of gigs, and he says he can't hear a difference with the stainless.

The fact is that refretting any guitar can alter the sound because of how the frets are installed, and I think people try to attribute that to the stainless wire.

The feel, and wear are just too good compared to nickel for me to ever go back. I wont pull out perfectly good nickel frets, but if a refret is needed, stainless it is.

Re: Telegib like thing

I've wanted to build a TeleGib for ages and this thread isn't helping because that looks awesome! :D

I set mine up w brass under the Eb just because everyone else did. Hated it. Put steel under all six.

Nice! I've always been a big fan of the TeleGib style guitars! Of course, I'll let Estella here do the talking for that...
