Tell Me About Godin Guitars

I noticed how much more expensive these Godins have gotten lately. Have they improved from the b-class Poplar guitars they have always made?

Re: Tell Me About Godin Guitars

Godin guitar have always been good guitars IMO. I have 2 of them, 1 is about 8 years old, the other is about 5. From the new ones I have played, they seem to get more expensive, and and going down in quality. This might just be the ones I have played, but if you can find a godin that you like, it will be worth the price.

my Godin Solidac is the one guitar i'd never be without if i gave them all up... it was the one guitar i had at every gig.... the LR Baggs system meant i didn't need to lug an acoustic.. The stock HSH PU's are great and low noise! The finnish is flawless as is the fit and build quality

the solidac model has the nice Mahogany LGX style neck on it.... But the body is 60% Maple with Poplar wings... plus it has a real Quilt maple top.... The 2 post trem and the stock locking tuners work great with the stock finely cut nut!

all in all it was one quality axe for the $850 it cost me including the quality gig bag Godin gives with this model.... a Fender American Standard strat costs around $1150 here just to compare price.... for $850 to get a north American made axe with all the features it has is amazing....

www.godinguitars.com/godinxtsap.htm this model will be mine next!!!!

Re: Tell Me About Godin Guitars

They've definitely never been B-class guitars... If you play them you wouldn't be able to tell what wood they're made out of, and if I remember correctly that's due to having a maple center with poplar wings. The prices have gone up because there has been an increase in demand; It's no longer a secret how good those guitars consistently are.
