Did you try the Dean Markley 12-54 set? The Ernie Ball 12-56 is a good one, too, but that plain 24 G is a beast!

Well, someone said that, for an example.. 3 different brands of strings, and the same gauge. 0.12
ernie ball, daddario and ghs.
a friend of mine said that the, for an EX: the ghs one is the tightest of the 3. ahahaha does that exist ^?! or is it just his imagination!?

Until I tried Elixir strings I didn't have a favorite. However, these strings last FOREVER. Even with a floating Floyd they just hold up extremely well. They last way longer than the black-coated Black Diamond strings I had been using and way longer than Ernie Ball Super Slinkys.

strings are the same as pickups.. you'll never get people to agree on one.



i absolutely abhor ernie ball strings. to me it's the worst crap out there.
dadarios are smooth and silky and i love the fel of them.
right now i got a set of Darco strings i got with my warpig on my fusion and they're awesome.
smooth feel, great tone.
next i'm gonna put the feline 10's on and see how they fare (when i get the trilogy and install it.)

i also got a set of 9's from feline and a set of 9.5 from dadario (which, to be honest i have NO idea why i bought.. or when i bought em)

i'd like to try out DR's and Elixirs, but they dont have them over here, cos they're "too expencive"

elixers are nice. i use to use them on my acoustic but now no one in town deals em. the d'adarrio's i use are nice. i like em. the eb's corrode fast.....

Well, since i got free strings from Dean Markley, they are the number one in my book. Great variety of strings, some gauge sets you won't get anywhere else and very good customer service(got the strings for asking what's the difference between the two types, and they stated that i should just try it myself,what imo was very cool).

My favorites are DR Hi-Beams, but I am starting to have trouble finding my set (10-52) online. I went back to GHS Boomers after years of being away from them, & they're good, they're cheap, but the sound changes drastically as they age.

As for what I've tried, I've tried EB Slinky's, Super Slinky's, etc. Worked fine, never had a problem, but yeah they seeme to corrode fast (although no string set I've played lasted longer than a month in intonation or corrosion). GS Boomers aren't bad at all. Fender bullets are cool, I'm wanting to try out the stainless steel ones soon. I'll also try the Dave Mustain set. I don't like moving out of "standard" gauges, i.e. "skinny top thick bottom", etc, similar sets. I prefer standard across the board, and in .10. I may use higher gauge some day, but I think "Light" and "Standard" are good words to live by in terms of gauges.

As for acoustic, I am totally sold on D'Addario EXP16: Ovation ships with them, and in my experience they are great. But I use light gauge on acoustics. I never use medium or higher on anything because I don't want stuff to start warping too soon. But I'll be experimenting, like I said....

I have tried many brands of strings, and I keep going back to D'addario.
Highly Recommended.
I will probably ending up switching to Elixir, because I have very oily hands, and kill strings in a few days easily.

I use Dean Markley Blue Steels, 10-52 guage. I never really thought about strings before, I just bought a pack of them years ago, liked them, and continued out of habit. About a year ago though I bought some D'Addarios, and they just didn't feel right. I had a couple of packs, so I tried to get used to them, but I couldn't, and went back to the Dean Markley's, and everything felt right again. As such, I'll probably stay with the Dean Markley's as long as they make strings.

Point is, just try for yourself. A lot of people use and like D'Addario, but they didn't feel right to me, so someone saying "these are the best" may mean absolutely nothing when it's you playing them.

I use Dean Markley Blue Steels, 10-52 guage.

Oh yeah, forgot, I've used Blue Steels, they sound great. Very nice string, sort of "the standard" for strings. LOL. I'm using them right now, I think, and to me their my "safe default" set. Man, have I been out of it or what?

Try the DR's in .10 ga. Great sound , they need minimal stretch , and they last a long time. If you have a particulary aggressive attack on your approach to both rythym & solos, you will like. A little extra coin on the downstroke " no pun intended ", but they are fine strings. I say that because I personally play hard, and not-so-hard at the same time. I try to make it all work within the moment, and if you can, you're on your way. I'd refund your money if you don't like 'em.

Hahahaha i´m eager to test the Blue Steels, Elixir´s, and DR strings
but i can´t find them here in brazil.except from the elixir, but they cost rivers of money.
they cost the price of a 3 packs of daddario .
i mean 1 elixir pack= the price of 3 packs .
