The 4 horsemen solo with JB

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

Sounded like Kirk Hammett to me. Both of them sounded fine.

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

The 2nd one is better in my opinion... just cuz of the "HAH!!" init... lol no seriously the 2nd is better, the 1st had quite afew duff notes roaming around init... mainly in the latter part of the solo. The 2nd take was far cleaner.. you could do a Hammett and just cover mistakes in Wah and we'd never know :)

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

hi thanks for listening.

the backing track is guitar pro. it produces midi stuff, so you just turn off the lead guitar, and leave bass drums and rythm guitars (which are very low because thats the only thing that doesnt sound good)

thanks. Im not sure if "it sounds like kirk hammet" is a compliment or not, hehe, you know im not a fan of hammet, I played metallica for hetfield, and now that im playing megadeth, i learned it becuase it's mustaine's, just slower to the one on the mechanix.

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

if you are using the integrated sound card that comes with the motherboard, then it will sound bad. Ive got a sound blaster live! sound card, and it makes midis sound a lot better, and you can work around with effects and stuff. its got plenty of features. the actual sound card that creative sound blaster is selling right now is the audigy2 I think.

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

Mustaine wrote the solo originally but Kirk Recorded it on the CD, if I remember correctly, if not, I appologize.
Rock On :13:

Good work!
Also, wasn't it Mustaine who did that solo?

not often I qoute my self .

..." I learned the solo because it's mustaine's"

dave plays it a LOT faster in the song released by megadeth "the mechanix", its got the same licks, just a lot faster and with more notes and more dynamic, but its got the same esence.

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

i think the solos on KEA and RTL are amazing. straight up great metal solos. not too much wah and no crappy tone. that was hammetts best work imo. youve got the notes down real well, but if youre going for perfection ur tone and pick attack would need to be changed. either way it sounds pretty f u c k i n good to me!

Hi thanks for the feedback. Im really open minded, what are your thoughts and tips to change that?

thanks.

Re: The 4 horsemen solo with JB

Hi again. besided a bump, I post again another take. I made some mistakes in the first half of the solo, but I liked the second half (from 0:30 to the end)

I finally invented something good for that fast high part (from 0:34 to 0:38) that I wasnt getting right because its so hard to play on my ex100, oh how I need a 24fretter with a gigantic cutaway.

heres the new link.

enjoy and let me know thanks.
