The $50 Charvel refinished into the DAGONCHASER

Re: The $50 Charvel refinished into the DAGONCHASER

I was all excited. I thought you were talking about Dagon from HP Lovecraft. :)

Still very very cool though. :friday:

I would LOVE guitar with this graphic!

That Charvel looks great!!! I'd very much like to have a guitar like that. I've been toying with the idea of refinishing my guitar, this is fabric, but I'd like something similar, albeit less extreme.

I refinish all my guitars with this in mind.

Thanks champerloo. Just so you know it is plywood haha.

I have a few other theme style guitars near completion so stand by for the Kreator and Gold saint Seiya

whaaaa? PLYWOOD Charvel? Made in where and when??? Always thought Charvels were pretty solid-built hi-end gear, no?

Oh, Charvette - Charvel's answer to Squier/Epi/Slammer/Lyon/OLP/etc... I thought you were saying that some of the iconic MIA/MIJ Charvels were actually made of the cheapest whatever available. Cuz that would've been a shocker there.

kramersteen, are you trying to keep your methods to yourself? If yes, I get that and its cool. Beautiful stuff!

Otherwise I'd guess that you used decoupage glue affix fabric (or whatever) to the body, and then use a hand-rub lacquer of some sort in multiple coats with glazing in between?

Sounds about right man. I actually am helping a few sd and jemsite forum members out with similar finishes atm.

I love to help if people show interest.

Project guitar have a basic guide on how to do it. Its not perfect but its a good place to start if anyone wants to know how. As for the clear coating method i guess that comes down to what you like to use. imo finding the best sanding sealer for the individual project is the hardest to work out. There is alot of types out there and they all react differently to the fabric.
